The Walk for Music is a very different kind of Walk. The route is short -- 2 miles -- to allow children and seniors (and everyone in between) to participate. The goal is to celebrate music making, not walk a long distance, so individuals who prefer not to walk are also encouraged to participate.
STARTING POINT
Walkers will check in at Zumix on 260 Sumner Street in East Boston -- one block from the Maverick MBTA stop, at the corner of Sumner and Orleans.
The walk begins on the waterfront in Piers Park on Marginal Street -- arguably the most beautiful view of Boston and the harbor in the city. We will walk the East Boston Greenway, past playgrounds, green space, and victory gardens, to the East Boston Library and back, concluding with a celebration in Piers Park.
Parking is available at three locations:
- Piers Park, 95 Marginal Street
- East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, 250 Sumner Street
- East Boston Neighborhood Health Center,135 Bremen Street
Piers Park is a few blocks away from the Maverick MBTA stop on the Blue Line.
